ABOUT THE ACADEMY
The primary area of activity is training of specialists in the field of civil protection of population and territories against emergencies. The Academy has graduated more than 5000 highly qualified specialists since its foundation in 1992.
Today the Academy implements educational programs of Bachelor and Master degrees, postgraduate studies and advanced training.
Officers and civilian specialists are trained for territorial bodies, rescue military units, departments of the EMERCOM of Russia and other ministries and departments, including emergency management agencies of foreign states.

From 20 to 23 December, the national ice hockey team of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus is on a visit to Russia. For the entire stay in the capital, the hockey team was accommodated in the Civil Protection Academy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
This morning, the members of the delegation got acquainted with some educational and material objects of our university: they examined the training center (management in crisis situations) and the educational and experimental complex "Stability of economic objects and territories in emergency conditions", visited the Institute of Development of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, the Museum of International Activities.
As part of the program of their stay in Moscow, the employees of the Belarusian emergency department will make a sightseeing tour of the sights of the capital, and will also conduct a training session in the Novogorsk Training Center on the eve of the match.
On December 22, in the very heart of Moscow, on Red Square, a friendly ice hockey match between the teams of the emergency departments of Russia and Belarus will take place. The match is timed to the Day of the Rescuer of the Russian Federation and, one might say, has already become a tradition. The first game took place in December 2020.

Within the framework of the visit, a working meeting was held with the deputy heads of the Academy for educational and scientific work - Colonel Vladimir Nesterov and Vasily Polev, as well as the head of the faculty (for the training of foreign specialists) Colonel Boris Pecherskikh, where they discussed issues of further development of cooperation to improve the qualifications of specialists fr om the Emergencies Ministry of Tajikistan and training in higher education programs.
The members of the delegation made an introductory tour of the main educational and material facilities of the university. Foreign colleagues visited the training center for management in crisis situations, the educational and experimental complex "Stability of economic objects and territories in emergency conditions", the Development Institute of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia. At the Department of Rescue Operations, the guests were shown the equipment of specialized classes for mountain and diving training. About 400 students, cadets, undergraduates and teachers from more than 20 higher educational institutions of the CSTO member states, Serbia, Mongolia and Vietnam took part in the IV International Youth School of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, held in the videoconference mode on the basis of the Civil Protection Academy of the EMERCOM of Russia. Among them are representatives of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Belarusian, St. M. Gabdullina of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian-Tajik Slavic University, as well as the Security Faculty of the University of Belgrade, the University of Internal Affairs of Mongolia, the Fire Safety Institute of the Ministry of Public Security of the Republic of Vietnam and a number of other universities and structures.
Within the framework of the ceremonial part of the IV International Youth School of the CSTO, the guests of honor laid flowers at the «Link of Times» memorial complex at the Civil Protection Academy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

The IX International Scientific and Practical Conference "Emergency Situations: Prevention and Elimination" began its work in Minsk.
The conference is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the creation of the first in the Republic of Belarus scientific unit in the field of prevention and elimination of emergencies and fires - the Scientific Research Institute of Fire Safety and Problems of Emergencies.
Representatives of the teaching staff, students of the faculty of management personnel and the faculty of training foreign specialists were involved in the work of the conference from our Academy.
The conference program provides for a discussion of scientific and technical achievements in the field of protection against fires, accidents and disasters of natural and man-made character, the development of proposals for enhancing international scientific and technical cooperation and the introduction of promising developments into practice.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Academy and the Institute of Fire and Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China.
The Institute of Fire and Rescue Service is an important component in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of China system and performs the entire range of tasks in the field of training for the Chinese fire and rescue service, advanced training of specialists and research.
Cooperation between our Academy and the Institute of Fire and Rescue Service of China will help to reveal the existing advantages in the field of education, strengthen the general scientific and educational potential, and will contribute to the strengthening and development of the training system for rescue personnel in both countries.

Representatives of the Academy took part in a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Headquarters of Russia and Syria, as well as in holding meetings with representatives of the relevant structures of the Syrian Arab Republic in the field of civil defenсe, protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of exchange of experience between countries in the field of civil defenсe and emergency response.

The training is organized within the framework of the implementation of the agreement of cooperation between the Academy and the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Center in the field of education.
The training is carried out according to the training program for scientific and pedagogical workers in the field of civil defenсe and protection from emergencies.
The volume of the training course is 464 academic hours. The main part of the classes was conducted by the teachers of the Academy in the mode of videoconferencing.
The training ended with final certification and presentation of state diplomas.

The ICDO conducts training for divers-rescuers
The ICDO conducts training for divers-rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Specialists of the Academy were involved as trainers-experts of the Russian Federation to conduct classes with divers-rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The two-week courses are organized by the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) from May 23 to June 6 at the Training Center in the city of Priozersk, Karaganda region.
During the trainings, foreign colleagues will exchange best practices, knowledge and skills in the field of diving.
Upon completion of the course, Kazakh divers will be awarded certificates of the ICDO trainers-experts.
It should be noted that last year the Civil Defence Academy of EMERCOM of Russia successfully passed in the ICDO the certification of advanced training programs for training specialists of emergency services of foreign states, and the Academy teachers received the status of certified trainers of the organization.

Upon the successful mastering of the educational program, graduates (officers) will be appointed to command positions of rescue units and emergency management agencies of foreign states.
For Bachelor’s program we accept young people under the age of 24 with secondary school education who are employees of emergency management agencies of foreign states.

Upon the successful mastering of the educational program, graduates (leading stuff officers) will be appointed to positions of rescue units and emergency management agencies of foreign states.
For Master's program we accept officers under the age of 35 with higher education who have served in officer positions for at least 5 years, mainly in command positions:
• Heads of emergency management agencies departments of foreign states, Battalion commanders;
• Senior officers of emergency management agencies of foreign states, Deputy Battalion commanders.

Research and practical works
The Academy conducts extensive research in various fields of science. It performs more than 10 scientific works annually. As part of the research, interested scientists and specialists of the Russian Emergencies Ministry departments, emergency rescue, fire and rescue, scientific organizations, educational institutions, research and production enterprises, as well as representatives of foreign scientific and educational organizations, rescue services of foreign states (based on Cooperation Agreements) are involved.

The Academy is a platform for international events in the field of civil defenсe, protection of the population and territories from emergencies under the umbrella of EMERCOM of Russia, the ICDO and other international organizations.

The International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) is an international intergovernmental organization that establishes between national civil defence organizations and promotes research in the field of public protection, organizes the exchange of experience and coordinates efforts to prevent, prepare for and act in emergency situations.

The active work of the Academy is closely connected with ICDO. Seminars, conferences, exchange of experience, as well as training of specialists in the field of civil defence and civil defence are jointly organized, curricula are developed for the training of officials (senior and middle) of the line ministries for the member countries of ICDO.

Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a regional international organization whose goals are to “strengthen peace, international and regional security and stability, protect on a collective basis the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of member states, the priority in which member states give to political means.”

He takes part in the work of the International Youth School within the framework of the CSTO University League, of which the Academy is a member.

One of the priorities of the Center is the work on staff training, conferences and seminars, as well as participation in exhibitions. Not only the programs of additional professional education are providing for armenian specialists, but also the higher education programs. Conducting seminars, conferences, and interaction in various areas is actively continuing to present day.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which was founded in 1863, works worldwide to provide assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence, as well as to distribute knowledge of laws protecting victims of war.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose goals and objectives are exclusively humanitarian in nature and are aimed at protecting the lives and dignity of people affected by armed conflict and violence and providing them with assistance. By promoting and reinforcing humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles, the ICRC is working hard to prevent human suffering. The Civil Defence Academy together with the Red Cross organizes joint conferences, seminars and webinars and work closely for a long time

The Regional Russian-Cuban fire and rescue specialists training center was established on the basis of the National Firefighters School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, located in Havana.
